This week on Talkin' Bout My Generation, Mike decided he wanted to talk about something 21st century - so we're talking about a 2016 show that has become our latest obsession!

This spring, when How To Get Away With Murder went on hiatus from its season finale, ABC started looking for something to replace it in the 10p/9c time slot that was now empty. So they ordered up another episode from Shondaland's production company, and we were greeted with The Catch, starring Mirielle Enos and Peter Krause.

This has become popular in both of our households, despite ratings not carrying it strongly (it was on the bubble, but was successful enough to keep going for a second season). If you haven't seen it, what are you waiting for?

Join us this week as we discuss our favorite new hidden gem, ABC's The Catch.

In 2003, a Marvel movie was made that would make Ben Affleck rumors fly that he would "never" don a comic book outfit again (Joke's on you, Bats!).

Yes, we're referring to the poorly written, poorly cut Marvel's Daredevil movie, starring Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, Michael Clark Duncan, and Colin Farrell.

We discuss the movie, and then SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT! delve into the new Netflix original series, Daredevil, with Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, Vincent D'onofrio, and The Mighty Ducks' Fulton Reed!!!

Come join Mike Blanchard and myself as we let the Devil out - The Man Without Fear, the Devil of Hell's Kitchen, Daredevil!

This week on Talkin’ Bout My Generation, Mike suggested we discuss television from 20 years ago. Turns out there was quite a bit that happened at this time – HISTORY making things. Arsenio went off the air. Caesar Romero passed away. And a White Ford Bronco carried the Juice on a slow speed chase. Join in as Mike and I talk about the year 1994, and how it affected television in general.

Major Nelson. Gov. Fred Picker. And of course, the daddy of SouthFork, J.R. Ewing.

This week’s episode is a tribute to Larry Hagman, a great actor with a long and storied career history.

We’ll cover Hagman on his time with I Dream of Jeannie and Barbara Eden, along with a rather funny Nick At Nite story of an encounter with Larry and an elephant; we’ll delve into the original Dallas series that ran from 1978-1991, with cast members such as Patrick Duffy, Victoria Principal, and Priscilla Presley, and we’ll cover the 2012 continuation series and where it goes now that the Ewings have all grown up.

Join TFG1Mike and Doug Abel as they discuss the late great Larry Hagman on this week’s episode of Talkin’ Bout My Generation!

In the fall of 1993, ABC launched a new program, aimed at pre-teens. As part of the TGIF lineup, Boy Meets World was launched with Fred Savage’s little brother, Ben, as the main star, Cornelius “Cory” Matthews.

We grew up with him, watched him grow from the goofy little kid with the troubled friend, Shaun, older brother Eric, and smart girl (aka his love interest, girlfriend, and finally wife) Topanga.

The show was a hit, lasting 7 seasons before finally ending. But that’s not the end – not by a long shot.

On Fri., June 27th, the next iteration of Boy Meets World will launch with the future of Cory and Topanga as parents of their own children, of which their daughter is going out into her own world.

Come listen as Doug Abel and Mike Blanchard discuss the past, and give a sneak preview of the next generation of this series on Talkin’ Bout My Generation!

I know, we said we were going to do baseball this week, but sometimes plans change. So we have to change it up and go with a new plan, right? And for this episode, well…we just love it when a plan comes together! This episode is being posted out of order; it was originally going […]

In 1984, CBS television had one of the hottest television shows of the 80’s. It featured a black Bell 222A helicopter that had the ability to go supersonic, fired machine guns and deadly cannon fire that would decimate enemy targets. What was this show? None other than Airwolf, starring Jan Michael Vincent as Stringfellow Hawke and […]

On September 26, 1982, NBC premiered a great live-action show that featured David Hasselhoff driving a Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am that was indestructible, had all sorts of computer sensors, and most importantly, had artificial intelligence to talk to anyone in the car. Built by the Knight Foundation, KITT was a nearly indestructible force for good, and […]

The world of radio was a little funnier east of the Mississippi, in a city called Cincinnati back in the early 80’s. This radio group had soul, it had tight pants, it had a burnout and a lovable loser. Hell, it even had the fashion sense of a used car salesman in it! Come join Talkin’ […]

This week I am joined long distance from Seattle by my good friend Rich Hegland, as we boldly go where no man has gone before (well, ok, not really – MANY people have discussed this topic before!) – to discuss the Star Trek original series.
